SNP fights for a stronger safety net while maintaining our commitment to quality, individualized legal services for our neediest neighbors.
At least 20% of New Yorkers finds themselves at risk of losing housing, public benefits, or nutritional assistance at some point. They face indifference from impenetrable bureaucracies and rejections from other legal services organizations unwilling to lend a hand.
That’s when the Safety Net Project steps in. We provide vital community legal services to clients at our network of free city-wide legal clinics. While fighting for our clients on an individual basis, our team engages in impact litigation, research, and policy advocacy. In doing so, we challenge systemic failures that violate the rights of those we serve.
Stand with us as we cast a stronger, wider safety net
