Public Benefits & Homeless Legal Clinics

SNP BENEFITS AND HOMELESS ADVOCACY WARMLINE HOURS

The SNP Benefits and Homeless Advocacy warmline hours are Thursdays starting at 1 PM (until 5 PM depending on number of callers).

The warmline number: 646-923-8358.

Callers are instructed to leave a message and generally receive a call back within 24-48 hours.

We take a limited number of calls each week so once the maximum number of calls is reached, we are not able to take on additional callers. The message will inform all callers as to whether to expect a call back from SNP staff.

MONTHLY LEGAL CLINICS

In addition, SNP continues to operate monthly legal clinics at the below locations. The legal clinics operate by appointment. Appointments are generally scheduled directly through the partner sites but if someone is having difficulty scheduling an appointment, feel free to reach out to us.

ST. JOHN’S BREAD & LIFE IN BED-STUY

Date: One Tuesday per month

MET COUNCIL CLINIC

Date: Third Thursday of the month

Time: 6pm – 8pm

Topic: Landlord Tenant Issues

How to RSVP: No RSVP; First come, first served. Please ask for the sign in sheet for the “Safety Net Project of the Urban Justice Center” when you arrive.

If you have a case in Housing Court, you can go to the Housing Court listed on your court papers on your court date and ask to be referred to a Right To Counsel lawyer.

If you have an eviction case, the website EvictionFreeNYC can help you work out who the service providers in your neighborhood are and connect you with local tenant organizing groups.

If you have a housing issue but there are no court papers, you can reach out to the Housing Court Answers hotline at 212-962-4795 for advice and referrals.

You can also call 311 and you need housing legal services.
