Our Work

The Safety Net Project stands at the forefront of the fight to reduce poverty and homelessness and to bolster the social safety net by combining a potent mix of direct legal services, research and policy advocacy, media advocacy, and community organizing.

The Safety Net Project fights to prevent evictions, illegal rent increases, uninhabitable living conditions, and other attacks on the social safety net, the homeless, and NYC’s affordable housing stock.

“If you’ve lost your way, which I have, there really needs to be avenues to assist with that.”
– Sarah
